CloneCD 5 Profiles Window |
 |
CloneCD comes with five (four in the United States and Japan) preset Profiles:
Profiles are preset Read- and Write-Settings that match particular CD types: an
Audio CD needs different settings from a Game- or Data-CD. Simply pick a Profile
that fits your Source CD.
You can choose between the following Profiles:
- Audio CD - was designed to copy any Audio CDs.
- Data CD - was designed for all normal data CDs.
- Game CD - was designed to make working copies of PC Game CDs.
- Multimedia Audio CD - was designed to copy multi session Audio CDs. Normally these are Audio CDs with an additional video clip.
- Protected PC Game - optimised for the creation of Safety Backups of protected PC Games. This profile is disabled in the United States and Japan.
Hint: Advanced Users could change the Profiles with the right mouse button
through "Edit" or create a completely new Profile through
"New".
Even if you are not advanced, but would like to take a look at the settings,
click with the right mouse button on a Profile:
- Through "New" you can create a new Profile.
- Through "Edit" you could change preset setting. Don't panic:
With the "Default" Button you can come back to the standard
setting at any time.
- Through "Copy" you can copy an existing Profile for adapting it
to personal wishes without deleting the preset settings of a standard
Profile.
Note: The Menu Items "Rename" and "Delete" are only
enabled for your own personal Profiles. The standard Profiles can not be deleted
or renamed.
The Profile Settings distinguish between Read Settings
and Write Settings, depending if you are in a reading or writing process.
New features with CloneCD 5 are, that you can choose the "Audio
Extraction Quality", the option "Only read the first Session" and the
"Automatic Fast Error Skip".
Use "Regenerate Data Sectors", if your source CD is in bad shape.

Disable "Don't report read errors", if you want to investigate the structure of a CD protection in the Log window.
Use "Emulate weak sectors", if you don't know if your CD writer supports correct EFM encoding.
This feature works with any SAO or DAO CD writer. To use an "emulated" backup, you need an installed CloneCD with "Hide CDR Media" enabled.
Don't forget: With the "Default" Button you can come back to the
standard setting at any time.
The options "Amplify weak sectors" and "Emulate weak sectors" are disabled in the United States and Japan.
